VISION
The purpose of Youth Club is to promote leadership, community service, sporting excellence, cultural diversity and team work. As per the guidelines of the Government of India, We at IIMT promotes interest and participation in sports. The club focuses on foster sportsmanship, and provide opportunities for physical activity and competition among students.
OBJECTIVES OF YOUTH CLUB
- Promote Physical Fitness and Well-being: Emphasize the holistic benefits of participating in sports, including improved mental health, stress relief, and overall well-being and encourage members to participate in regular physical activity through sports and fitness training.
- Develop Skills: Provide opportunities for members to improve their skills and techniques in their chosen sport(s) through coaching, practice sessions, and competitive play.
- Foster Sportsmanship and Teamwork: Promote values such as fair play, respect for opponents, and cooperation among teammates, fostering a positive and supportive team environment.
- Provide Competitive Opportunities: Organize or participate in competitions, tournaments, and leagues at various levels to give members the chance to test their abilities and strive for excellence.
- Build Leadership and Responsibility: Offer opportunities for members to take on leadership roles within the club, such as serving as team captains, coaches, or officers, fostering leadership skills and a sense of responsibility.
- Support Diversity and Inclusion: Ensure that the club is inclusive and welcoming to individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and abilities, promoting equity and accessibility in sports participation.
- Engage in Outreach and Service: Give back to the community through volunteer initiatives, or outreach programs that use sports as a means to positively impact society.
- Promote Lifelong Participation: Encourage members to continue participating in sports and physical activity beyond their college years, promoting a lifelong commitment to health and fitness.

KHO-KHO COMPETITION
IIMT Sports club organized a one-day inter-departmental KHO-KHO Competition for the students of IIMT on the 16th of October, 2017. Its objective was to develop a team spirit among the students and display their physical prowess. The day was scheduled to begin at 10:30 am at the IIMT campus, where the students assembled near the administrative block. All required arrangements were made there. Ample seating arrangements were made for the audience at the sporting grounds of the campus.
The inauguration commenced at 10:30 am with a welcome of chief guest Mr. S. K. N Singh Rawat, Principal IIMT Aligarh, Dr. Bijendra Singh, Registrar IIMT Aligarh, and H.O.D’s from various departments, Dr. Gloving Varshney, Coordinator IGNOU CENTRE IIMT. This was followed by the inaugural speech by the chief guest his words of wisdom, primarily drawn from his own life, were inspiring and set the tone for the day.
The judge for the day was IIMT’s own experienced sports teacher Miss. Suprachi Sharma. She guided the event of the day with her fair and unbiased judgment. She patiently explained the scheduled game rules and graced the day with her expertise.
The event kicked off with a motivating match in a girls category between Computer Science Department and Basic Science Department. After this exciting start, the various matches lined up for the day quickly progressed.
The students of IIMT were divided into 12 teams (6 BOYS and 6 GIRLS), 12 each with a faculty guide for each team.
The competition was in Knock Out format for both boys and girls. The much-anticipated finals in the girl’s category were between the BCA Department and the BTC wing of the Education Department, which later emerged as the winner. The day was finished with the most energetic and cheered final in the boy’s category between the Basic Science Department and the BTC wing of the Education Department, which later emerged as a winner.
After Mr. S. K. N Singh Rawat, Principal IIMT Aligarh, announced the winners, Mr. Pankaj Mahalwar, Honorable Secretary IIMT group of Institutions, distributed the medals and certificates to the winners and runner-ups of each event. The winning team was also applauded. His speech stressed the importance of sporting spirit. The prize distribution ceremony was completed by 2:30 pm with a photo session.
It was an exciting day for the students and members of IIMT Sports as the first event of the session was completed. It highlighted the importance of sports and a sporting spirit to these future teachers.
